MEC for The Department of Health (NW), The Honorable Madoda Sambatha officially handed over the new clinic at Boikhutsong Extention 2 in Ventersdorp
The official handover of the new clinic at Boikhutsong Extention 2 in Ventersdorp served as the second segment of the 2023 Nelson Mandela Day program in JB Marks Local Municipality. The North West MEC for the Department of Health, the Honorable Madoda Sambatha, oversaw the formal handover.
“The Constitution of South Africa guarantees access to healthcare services. The right to have access to health care service is a basic human right stipulated in the Constitution. Section 27 of the Constitution provides that everyone has the right to have access to health care services, including reproductive health care service,’’ added MEC Sambatha. He further emphasised that, no one should be refused emergency medical treatment in times of need.
The MEC also participated in a tree-planting event with the contender and delegate for Miss Earth South Africa 2023. Tree-planting is in line with ideals and tenets of Nelson Mandela Day and strives to improve access to sustainable food for the local people.
